SEARCH FOR 10 PATRIOTIC DOCTORS. Health Secretary Francisco T. Duque III (third from left) cites the relevance of the 2008 search for Ten Outstanding Filipino Physicians (TOFP) organized by the Department of Health and JCI Senate Philippines supported by Philhealth and PCSO in view of the continuing diaspora of Filipino doctors to other countries. At the same weekly Health Forum at Anabel’s, former Health Secretary Jaime Galvez Tan and Philippine Medical Association president Rey Melchor Santos confirmed the continuing exodus of Filipino doctors not only to the United States and Australia but also to new frontier countries such as Canada, Finland and Bahrain which have recently opened their doors to thousands of Filipino health workers. TOFP is aimed at encouraging Filipino doctors anchore.
